The music was blaring at the underground club, and it was already packed with people. Luna was a petite, tattooed girl who loved the deep house music played at the club. She was wearing a short black dress, and her blonde hair was styled into beachy waves. She pushed her way through the crowd, looking for her friend Jax.
"Hey, Luna! Over here!" Jax waved at her from a corner booth where he was sitting with a group of people, all of different ethnicities.
"Oh, thank God," Luna said, relieved to have found her friend. She sat down next to Jax, her skin tingling from the electric atmosphere of the club.
Jax introduced Luna to his friends. One of them was a tall, dark-skinned man named Malik. He had a shaved head and piercing brown eyes that seemed to look right through Luna. Malik made her feel on edge, but also inexplicably drawn to him.
As the night went on, Malik and Luna found themselves alone, lost in conversation. Luna couldn't believe she was attracted to someone so different from her usual type.
"Can I buy you a drink?" Malik offered, his deep voice sending shivers down Luna's spine.
