At the dimly lit bar, Jake was slamming back drinks, feeling the warm, tingly sensation of drunkenness wash over him. He caught the eye of a stunning woman across the room, her long black hair cascading over one shoulder, tempting him to approach. As he stumbled over to her, he couldn't help but notice the sharp-tongued and rebellious look in her eyes.
"Hey, beautiful," Jake slurred, leaning against the bar clumsily. "Can I buy you a drink?"
The woman glared at him then, crossing her arms tightly over her chest.
"Don't think just because I'm sitting alone that I'm desperate, Jake," she spat, brushing a strand of hair out of her eyes. "I had a rough day and just wanted to be alone with my thoughts."
